| Providing unprecedented sensitivity and specificity LNA ("Locked nucleic acid") is a novel proprietary nucleic acid analogue, which is easily incorporated in synthetic DNA oligonucleotides thereby providing unprecedented sensitivity, specificity and discriminatory power to a wide range of genomics products.

Oligonucleotides containing LNA nucleotides exhibit unprecedented thermal stabilities towards complementary DNA and RNA as seen in table 1.
Additionally, LNA show excellent mismatch discrimination. In fact, the high binding affinity of LNA oligonucleotides allows for the use of short probes in e.g. SNP Genotyping, see table 2.
